Suction Creation: Suction is created inside the cups, which can be made of glass, silicone, bamboo, or plastic.
Heat Cupping: A flame is used to heat the air inside a glass cup before placing it on the skin. As the air cools, it creates a vacuum.
Vacuum Cupping: A pump is used to create suction without heat.
Placement: Cups are typically placed on areas such as the back, shoulders, neck, leg or other areas of muscle tension or pain.
Duration: Cups remain in place for 5–20 minutes. They may be stationary or moved along the skin in a technique called sliding cupping.
